we have a breakthrough!!! beulah let's me pet her and rub behind her ears....this is probably the first time she has WILLINGLY let me pet her....every other time it's been almost in resignation....madame is still more comfortable with the house (has no fears of going in and out like beulah does and seems to have a greater affinity for the other 4-leggers) but madame is still not ready to be petted....
