gone to the dogs....

it's all about the dogs (and sometimes the cats & the fish) -- in other words, jel and bob's animal menagerie. :)

i know, i know...it's been ages...

...but at least i kept track of the pictures i wanted to post and am now finally doing it.

here are pictures of all things dog for the last month or so....with the exception of a picture from jess of trouper "all grown up." and also i'm missing pictures of sushi bear-hugging the dogs by their necks and faking biting their necks....that cat is a little bit random....too bad i never snapped shots of those play moments.

i'm really only ABOUT a month late....as buster came to visit on 15th of december and those are the earliest pictures in this post.

leo is currently here for his vacation weekend while his momma is in savannah. i'll be better about up-dating with regularity in the future...

leo and dakota commence the play...shadow watches from the sidelines... Posted by Picasa

and more playing...they can't get enough! Posted by Picasa

and leo takes dakota down...1, 2, 3 - the 5-pounder wins the match!  Posted by Picasa

the dog lisa found in piedmont park...after searching and flyering for a few hours, i brought him home...he was re-united with his mom not too many hours later after she checked at the humane society where i'd taken him to have him scanned for a micro-chip. his name is nipper and he was a sweet snuggler for the few hours i had him.  Posted by Picasa

shadows trying to get in on the action from the right while ubu stays safely away in the background! Posted by Picasa

and the hard core playing commences! Posted by Picasa

sammy's weekend visit

sammy came to stay for 4 days....and unfortunately the forecast was for rainy weather that weekend....so the house got lab muddified as only sammy can do....but he and dakota are now apparently busom buddies...he used to annoy her...but now she adores him. maybe she's realized that it's not just the tiny dogs and the cats that are perfect playmates....someone her own size is fun too...

sammy enters the house and i'm expecting chaos to ensue (1 year old labs are a HANDFUL) but his destructive tendencies are not visible this visit as he spends most of his time wrestling with dakota....here, shadow and dakota are coming up for a tag team... Posted by Picasa

buster comes home with me and meets honey and shadow on his way in...he fell in LOVE with honey....the next morning, i knew why - honey had gone into heat.... :) Posted by Picasa

Buster Brown's Luxury Vacation

Here are pictures from buster brown's week-long stay at la casa de perros! he became quite attached to me....refusing to be placated if i left...even if there were others there to love on him. that's right buster brown, we know who the best auntie in the world is!

a close-up of sweet honey....this poor girl was left in a backyard when her owner's moved out of their house. a neighbor called paige after a week of giving her food....i emergency fostered her and she went from terrified and snapping to inseparable from my side...this good little soul was adopted 3 weeks later...i know she's in a home where she's loved and will never be discarded like trash again... Posted by Picasa

buster's trip to the dog park. we met our fabulous friends cassi and leo there and the two little ones became buddies. don't they look alike?! Posted by Picasa

ubu suns herself on the back deck while shadow and dakota chill in the yard... Posted by Picasa

and it's a dashing leo! this visit to the dog park he began to venture out of the safety the corner of the fence provided...he even got a little feisty! Posted by Picasa

buster scoping the world from one of his favorite spots...my pillow. Posted by Picasa
